About Us
- Born in Madras, (now Chennai), India and migrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1987.
- Studied business and computing at Monash University in Melbourne, but got the writing bug. I edited the university newspaper and published their student handbook. I worked as a music journalist for a few years writing for Billboard Magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine and about 50 others around the world. In 1991 I won Rolling Stone Magazine’s national writing award.
- Started an environmental engineering company in 1994 called EnviroEquip (it’s now the largest in the Asia-Pacific).
- Got married and started my own management and marketing consultancy – TaborVision / Friday creative. I worked with clients including NAB, Telstra, the Catholic church and numerous other organisations in Australia and the US.
- Took on the management of the national marketing for a public company which ended up in me moving to Perth where I ran one of the city’s most high-tech data centres (Perth iX) for a few years before being appointed as CEO of the Perth Wildcats when it was acquired by millionaire philanthropist Dr Jack Bendat AM CitWA.
- Have a Masters in Business Administration and am a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM). I am also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Turnaround Management Association. Currently completing a Juris Doctorate .
- In addition to my passion for the practice and theory of Management, I have been researching work-life balance for almost ten years. I am writing a book on it called “The Gap” that I hope to finish this year.
- I love barefoot running (about six kilometres three times a week) along the Canning River especially at night and try to get at least one paddle boarding session a week in the river – usually on Sunday with my son.
- Married with five kids – who are home schooled by my wife.
- I can read and write French, Tamil and English.
