box scoresThe Adelaide 36ers decisively beat the Perth Wildcats tonight at the Eaton Recreation Centre 95 v 75.

Both teams were lacking players with Adelaide missing Cooper and the Wildcats Jesse Wagstaff.

It was clear without Cooper that the 36ers would play a perimeter game leaving Garlepp and Ballinger to defend Rogers and Sam Harris.

Adelaide started well with the margin at 11 by the end of the first quarter (28 v 17) thanks to some sharp shooting by John Gilchrist. This guy is good. He’s quick when he needs to be and has a step back jumper that is going to be very difficult to guard. I still think he has some head room in fitness which will only make him more potent.

box scores

Drove down to Waroona to watch the ‘Cats take on the 36ers.

Both teams seemed a little relaxed in the country setting (about 80kms south of Perth). There was a lot less hustle on D compared to the previous encounter at both ends – allowing for a free-flowing game.

The ‘Cats came out strong from the start and apart from a brief moment or two held the lead throughout the game.
