Aborigines linked to Indians

Friday July 24th, 2009 in Blog | No Comments »

Indian anthropologist and researcher Dr Raghavendra Rao and his team have published a study claiming Australian Aborigines arrived via India from Africa.

The Indian government backed Anthropological Survey of India project found unique genetic mutations were shared between modern-day Indians and Aborigines, suggesting Australia’s indigenous people had once spent time on the sub-continent.

Dr Rao suggests an early dispersal of biologically and behaviorally modern humans from their African origins to Australia, by at least 45 thousand years via southern Asia by studies based on morphology, archaeology and genetics.

Red Cliff the movie

Red Cliff

Saw the movie Red Cliff on Sunday night.

Expected to see a boring foreign film with historical value, but was genuinely surprised.

John Woo’s epic is definitely worth a watch and may well beat that other classic Crouching Tiger.

The movie is based in the late 200′s AD and is the story of war and consolidation of fiefdoms. There is a parallel story of a villain’s quest for another’s wife.

It is already the biggest box-office hit in China where it was released in two parts.
