After almost 15 years in management and marketing in various industries I’ve learnt that turning around an established business is often more preferable than starting a new one.

Certainly in the last five years most of my work has been in what I call turn-around management or tipping-point management. And compared to the previous 10 years of starting businesses from scratch, the latter has been relatively easier and more effective.

The simple analogy of the energy required to get a vehicle for stationary to 30 km/h is far greater than the energy required to increase that speed from 30km/h to 60km/h should explain this point.
